W1 — Warranty

In writing, because ‘trust me’ isn’t a document

Most contractors at our scale stand behind their work informally, which means it depends on their mood and their memory. Ours is written down, attached to your contract, and handed to you at the walkthrough.

CCB #138911 Licensed, bonded & insured 70+ projects since 2020 Portland & the east side 5-yr written workmanship warranty
W1.1 — the coverage

Two tiers, plain language

5 years

Structural workmanship

Footings, framing, ledger attachment and flashing, structural connections, guardrail attachment. The invisible work — the part you can’t inspect from a deck chair and the part that actually fails when a builder cuts corners. Five years is well past the point where bad structural work shows itself.

2 years

General workmanship

Decking surface installation, fasteners, trim and finish carpentry, gates and hardware, alignment and operation. If a board we installed cups out of spec or a gate we hung stops latching, we come back and make it right.

W1.2 — manufacturer coverage

Layered with the manufacturer warranties

Product warranties cover the boards; our warranty covers the build. You get both, and we register the product warranty for you at handover.

TimberTech / Deckorators / Wolf

The synthetic lines we install carry limited manufacturer warranties in the 25–50 year class (terms vary by product line — we hand you the exact document for the exact boards on your deck, registered in your name).

Hardwoods

Ipe, cumaru, tigerwood, and mahogany have no manufacturer — just a sawmill. There is no paper warranty to hand you, so ours is the warranty. The wood itself will outlast every document on this page.

What’s excluded

Neglect of the maintenance schedule we hand over, ground movement, tree and root damage, alterations by others, and normal weathering and wood movement. Fair exclusions, listed in full in the document — not discovered in fine print later.

W1.3 — using it

If something’s wrong

Email or call. We respond within two business days, look at it in person, and schedule the repair. The warranty transfers once if you sell the house within the term — a real line item for your listing agent.

The full warranty document is provided with every proposal and attached to every contract.

Next step

Ask the other bids what they put in writing.

The design consultation is 60–90 minutes at your home: measurements, material samples in hand, and straight answers on feasibility, permits, and budget. It is not a hard sell — it’s the first working session of your project.
